Summer is winding down. It may still be hot, the summer may still stand high in the sky but the days are becoming noticeably shorter, the grasses are browning, the fruit is ripening and slowly, slowly we inch toward a new season. a time of harvest, of letting go, of going deep. As the summer fields dry under the intense sun and our summer energy wanes in the heat, take a break here in the midst of August, as the last quarter moon dawns, and plant seeds for the season that comes next. We plant bulbs in the fall that will bloom in the spring and our inner lives, like our gardens often need slowness to create something new. Let’s plant seeds of newness in our hearts as the new moon dawn, it is a time for change.
